The 2013 Annual Meeting of the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS) convened in the historic city of Budapest, Hungary, from Wednesday, June 26, to Friday, June 28.
Highlighting the event was a day-long symposium on Thursday, June 27, titled “Innovative Approaches to Engineering Education.” This symposium was meticulously structured into two segments: a morning session dedicated to discussing recent innovations in engineering education, followed by an afternoon session exploring the emerging challenges associated with educating “digital natives and digital immigrants,” alongside the promising influence of brain science on educational strategies.
The symposium aimed to spotlight contemporary, innovative methodologies in engineering education, facilitating an exchange of experiences related to the intersection of brain science and education, notably neuro-engineering. The day was enriched with keynote addresses from esteemed international figures in the field and was complemented by a series of topical presentations, weaving together a comprehensive narrative on the future of engineering education.
